CA’s Beta Montemayor Presenter at Cosmetics Europe Annual Conference

Posted Date: 23-June-2021

The Cosmetics Europe Annual Conference (CEAC) is a unique event organised yearly to bring together international cosmetics and personal care leaders, including industry experts, policy makers and companies, to discuss general, technical and regulatory developments in the cosmetics industry.  This year’s successful virtual event covered topics such as the European Green Deal, Empowering Consumers, International Developments, our Digital Future, and more.
Of particular note, Beta Montemayor, CA’s Science, Regulation & Market Access Director, was part of an expert panel who introduced and discussed the New Cosmetics Industry Global Science Program (2022-2026). The new program includes 3 pillars:
  1. building animal free safety assessment capabilities;
  2. training & education to facilitate wide use of novel approaches for safety assessment of cosmetics ingredients and products to the end users; and
  3. promoting regulatory use.

The program covers both environmental and human safety assessment and will be truly international, globally owned and driven forward by companies.

Further advancing animal-free safety assessments via this global program aligns with CA’s work on animal testing ban legislation in Canada and can also assist in facilitating cosmetics exports to China!
