CA Holds 2nd Virtual Regulatory Workshop, Over 125 Attend Important Semi-Annual Event

Posted Date: 21-December-2021

Cosmetics Alliance recently hosted our second Virtual Regulatory Workshop on December 9 – 10 with over 125 individual participants! Hosted by CA’s Vice President and Regulatory Director Beta Montemayor, attendees were guided through essential updates from Health Canada including the Self-Care Framework, Cosmetic Regulation Reforms, Interim Regulatory Relief Measures for our industry, and more.

A highlight from the event was the “Directors General Panel” featuring Natalie Page (NNHPD), Linsey Hollett (HPCD) and Roger Charland (CHPSD). The panel was moderated by CA President Darren Praznik and introduced by Beta Montemayor. The three DGs discussed the events over the last six months including the work undertaken throughout the “caretaker” period during the federal election and up until the appointment of their new Minister. They reflected on the time and activities necessary to brief their new Minister and what it means to confirming various decisions. They also discussed how they have been diligently working to shape and advance the Self-Care Framework including how important it will be to effect change in the regulatory and administrative “cultures” of their organizations which the Framework will require.

Our members provided Health Canada with valuable feedback during the question period and enjoyed the valuable opportunity to network with their industry colleagues and Health Canada.

If you missed our virtual regulatory workshop, here is a quick summary of the workshop.

Our next Regulatory Workshop is currently scheduled as an in-person event on May 17, 2021 at the Centre Mont-Royal in Montreal. Mark your Calendars now!
